Field Installation & Commissioning

Turnkey installation with certified engineers and technicians: laser alignment, function tests, performance measurement, operator and maintenance training, full technical documentation.

TL;DR

TMD GRUP's field installation and commissioning service manages all installation processes from factory to site with our certified engineer and technician team. With the project planned in MS Project / Primavera, laser-precision alignment, function tests and warranty performance measurement are standard procedures. Operator and maintenance staff training, plus full technical documentation handover (including as-built drawings), are included in the service.

Bespoke engineering. Capacity, sizing and material selection are engineered for each project — TMD GRUP determines all parameters together with you during the quotation process.

Key Highlights

  • Certified site-installation engineer and technician team — single-source turnkey installation.
  • Laser alignment — precise mechanical assembly for long equipment life.
  • Function tests and warranty performance measurement — line is verified to reach target capacity.
  • Operator and maintenance staff training — knowledge transfer for long-term operational assurance.
  • NEBOSH / IOSH compliant occupational safety practices — site work to international standards.
  • Project management with MS Project / Primavera, full technical documentation (including as-built) handover.

Scope of the Field Installation Process

TMD GRUP field installation starts with the transport of factory-produced equipment to the customer's site and ends with the commissioning of the line, performance verification, and operator authorisation. The scope typically consists of these steps:

• Site preparation: preparing the installation area, measuring the foundation/chassis placement points, mapping the equipment route.

• Shipping and delivery: managing logistics from factory to site, applying a piecewise or complete-installation strategy.

• Mechanical installation: positioning the equipment, laser-precision alignment, welding/bolt connections.

• Electrical and automation connections: integration of motors, sensors, valves and other actuators with the plant's SCADA/PLC system.

• Testing and commissioning: no-load function testing, loaded performance testing, warranty measurements.

• Training and documentation handover: operator and maintenance training, as-built drawings.

Certified Team and Laser Alignment

However well the equipment is manufactured, site-installation precision directly affects line lifetime. Drum misalignment in belt conveyors, vertical misalignment in bucket elevators, housing deflection in screw conveyors — these will inevitably occur unless laser-precision alignment is done on site, and within a few months they manifest as belt drift, bucket damage or bearing failures.

TMD GRUP site crews use laser-precision alignment equipment; shaft axes of the drive-transmission group, drum levels and chassis planes are aligned to documented accuracy. The team being certified means the installation is carried out at a guaranteed-quality standard.

Commissioning and Performance Testing

After mechanical and electrical installation is complete, the line goes through a two-stage testing process:

• No-load function test: equipment is run without material; motor currents, vibration levels, sensor outputs and automation logic are verified.

• Loaded performance test: the line is run with actual material; capacity, energy consumption, noise and dust emissions are measured. This test documents that the performance values committed in the contract are met on site.

TMD GRUP delivers the performance-test results to the customer in a written report; this report serves as the warranty-period reference.

Training and Knowledge Transfer

However well the line is installed, long life cannot be ensured unless the daily operator has correct usage and maintenance knowledge. An important part of TMD GRUP field services is training and knowledge transfer:

• Operator training: daily start/stop routines, normal operating parameters, alarm-response procedures.

• Maintenance staff training: periodic maintenance schedule, spare-parts familiarisation, fault symptoms and first-response methods.

• Management briefing: main KPIs, reporting, performance-tracking methodology.

Trainings are provided both in theory (presentation and documentation) and in practice (site demo). Refresher trainings can be planned in later periods if needed.

Occupational Safety — NEBOSH / IOSH Compliant Practices

Industrial site work is a high-risk activity: heavy lifting, working at heights, welding/cutting, confined-space entry, etc. TMD GRUP site crews have received NEBOSH / IOSH compliant occupational safety training; the following procedures are applied at every site:

  • Pre-site risk assessment (RA).
  • Toolbox talks — daily start-of-shift team briefing and the day's risk points.
  • Permit-to-work system — formal permits for hot work, work at heights, confined-space entry.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) — mandatory use of helmets, goggles, hearing protection, gloves, harnesses, etc.
  • Incident reporting — recording injuries or near-miss events and deriving preventive measures.

Project Management — MS Project / Primavera

In large-scale installation projects, scheduling and resource planning are critical. TMD GRUP plans and manages site projects on MS Project or Primavera platforms:

• Gantt-chart-based activity-level schedule.

• Resource (team, equipment, material) allocation and tracking.

• Critical-path analysis — activities at risk of delay are identified in advance.

• Weekly progress reports delivered to the customer.

• Change-management procedure to adapt to site conditions.

This disciplined approach allows the customer to track the project transparently and avoid surprises.

Documentation Handover — As-Built Drawings and Full Set

After commissioning, TMD GRUP delivers a full set of technical documentation to the customer. The package typically includes:

• As-built drawings — up-to-date technical drawings reflecting the on-site dimensions and changes.

• Mechanical and electrical diagrams — reference for operation and maintenance.

• Equipment technical specifications and serial numbers.

• Manufacturer test reports and certificates.

• Operation and maintenance manuals (Turkish + English).

• Performance test report.

This documentation stays with the customer for the lifetime of the line and forms the basis for all subsequent maintenance, modification or capacity-expansion projects.
